How our calculation is being done
The monthly number of recommended hours needed for manual content updates (or workdays needed, for hotel chains).
Method: GIATA internal research with over 1,000 hoteliers involved. Not all hotels will use this amount of time in reality (due to staff on furlough, a general lack of manpower, prioritisation, expertise, etc.) but this is the minimum amount recommended for a good hotel content representation online to reduce the dependency of a few large OTAs and truly diversify distribution.
GIATA is linked to more than 21,500 online channels in 74 countries (and growing).The calculation for this is done by Cornell University (one of the best hospitality schools in the world), that named it the hotel “Billboard Effect”. Our tool is applying these great findings of that study and makes them accessible to any hotel without the need for tech or IT knowledge! For more information please click here.
E.g.: If you have 1,000 bookings per month, on all booking channels, then this percentage will add to your existing bookings as additional potential online bookings due to increased booking channel presence of your hotel on up to 21,500 OTAs and other travel channels via GIATA DRIVE.
If this percentage is, say, 25%, it would mean that your new online bookings potential is 1,250! That is 250 more online bookings per month than normally!
